The Secret Ways

Based on Alistair MacLean’s novel, this taut thriller is set at the end of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Richard Widmark stars as Michael Reynolds, an American mercenary sent to Soviet-occupied Budapest to get resistance leader Prof. Jancsi (Walter Rilla) to safety. He recruits Jancsi’s daughter (Sonja Ziemann) for help, but they soon get more than he bargained for when they’re taken prisoner and must be rescued themselves.
