Films of Hamid & Melissa: Shahrbanoo & Sir Alfred
Shahrbanoo is about the encounter of an American woman with a conservative Iranian family living in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Tehran, there she is befriended Shahrbanoo, who invites them to a family gathering where she is treated to an intense cultural exchange about subjects ranging from women's place in society to American foreign policy. This was a popular film on PBS. "Sir Alfred of Charles de Gaulle Airport" is the real story behind Steven Speilberg's film the Terminal. Mehran Nasseri now goes by the name Sir Alfred who has been living at the airport for the last twelve years due to the "strangest case in immigration history".
