Silk

A 19th-century French soldier (Michael Pitt) leaves the service, marries, and shortly thereafter travels to Japan on behalf of his wealthy employer in search of rare silkworm eggs. While there, he has an intoxicating encounter with a concubine (Sei Ashina) that weakens his sense of fidelity to his wife (Keira Knightley).
