Please Don't Eat The Daisies (1960)
Based on playwright Jean Kerr’s collection of humorous essays, this pleasant comedy follows professor-turned-drama critic Larry Mackay (David Niven) and his wife Kate (Doris Day) as they pack up their brood and move from New York City to a dilapidated old house in the country. While Kate sets up their new home, Larry has his hands full dealing with an old friend (Richard Haydn) whose play he panned, as well as the production’s vengeful leading lady (Janis Paige). Patsy Kelly co-stars. 111 min. C/Rtg: NR
The Glass Bottom Boat (1966)
Comedy mixes with romance in this wacky spy spoof starring Doris Day as Jennifer Nelson, a public relations specialist working for NASA. When her boss (Rod Taylor) recruits her to write his life story in an effort to get close to her, Jennifer finds herself thrust into a world of zany espionage and mistaken identity as she's suspected of being a secret Soviet agent. John McGiver, Paul Lynde, Dom DeLuise, and Arthur Godfrey also star. 110 min. C/Rtg: NR
