A Simple Wish

Eight-year-old Anabel (Mara Wilson) wished for a "fairy godmother" to come down and help her cabbie/would-be singer dad (Robert Pastorelli) land a role in a Broadway musical. What she got was well-meaning but bumbling apprentice Murray (Martin Short), whose broken magic wand causes one comic calamity after another...and makes an opening for conquest-minded sorceress Claudia (Kathleen Turner).
