Exotic drama set in the 1930s in the rainforests of Borneo stars Hugh Dancy as Englishman John Truscott, who takes a job in the British colonial outpost of Sarawak and is given a beautiful native, Selima (Jessica Alba), to act as his servant, language tutor, and bedmate. While Truscott is being monitored by his superior (Bob Hoskins) and his wife (Brenda Blethyn), he falls in love with Selima, causing turmoil among the locals and colonial authorities. 109 min.
