Slightly French

Directed by Douglas Sirk, this musical-comedy remake of 1933's "Let's Fall in Love" stars Don Ameche as a disgraced director who plots a return to Tinseltown by passing off carnival worker beauty Dorothy Lamour as a French actress. Before you can say "Pygmalion," he attempts to refine her and is soon caught up in an offbeat love triangle.
