Country star Dwight Yoakam makes his directorial debut with this "existential western," a throwback to such trippy sagebrushers as "Zachariah" and "Greaser's Palace." Yoakam plays a U.S. marshal whose small Arizona town is destroyed by his adoptive family, a gang of outlaws. Joined by government agent Bud Cort, who claims to know a disturbing secret about the lawman's past, Yoakam sets out to bring down the violent clan.
