Tokyo cops Yuki (Minoru Oki) and Shimooka (Seiji Miyaguchi) were looking to catch a fleeing murderer (Takahiro Tamura), and to that end surveilled the Kyushu home of the fugitive's now-unhappily married ex (Hideko Takamine). As he watches the woman's trapped existence, Yuki's forced to ponder his own difficult romantic choices...perhaps to the point where his duty may be compromised.
