Stalin's Bride

Set during 1937, deep into the brutal era of Stalin, this blistering satire from Hungary follows a poor, wandering Soviet woman who happens upon a small town's farming collective. There she is met, not with sympathy and shelter, but with mockery and abuse, as the villagers nickname the pathetic woman "Stalin's bride" after she takes refuge from their torments under a poster of the communist tyrant.
