In late World War II Germany, teenager Heinz Stielke (Marc Lubosch) was proud to have lost his army officer father in combat...and devoted in his service to Hitler Youth. However, the loss of his mother in a bombing raid--coupled with his father having been revealed as a Jew--sent the ostracized young man on a fitful, abusive and unfortunate odyssey across the country.
