Story of a Prostitute (Criterion Collection)
In the second of her "Flesh Trilogy" movies made with director Seijun Suzuki, Yumiko Nogawa ("Gate of Flesh") plays a Chinese prostitute who agrees to service a garrison of 1,000 Japanese soldiers in Manchuria during World War II. The savage commander wants Nogawa all to himself, but she risks his wrath by falling for one of his officers. Tamio Kawachi, Isao Tamagawa co-star. AKA: "Joy Girls." 96 min.
