Airline pilot Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) is hailed as a hero after safely landing his plane on the Hudson River--and saving the lives of all 155 people onboard--when his engines were disabled by Canada geese on January 15th, 2009. But a subsequent investigation into the incident forces Sully to defend his actions when simulations indicate that he could have made it to one of two airports.
