This was one of director Ingmar Bergman's favorites among his own films. The story concerns a ballerina who discovers the diary of a past lover, now-deceased. Through reading the journal, it provides her with a much-needed emotional catharsis, as she revisits their idyllic summer together and shatters a wall of bitterness built up over the years.
