An old-school newspaper editor (Clark Gable) who learned his trade on the fly haughtily shoots down an invitation to lecture college journalism students. When he surreptitiously learns that the professor he snubbed is an attractive woman (Doris Day), he enrolls in her class to get to know her--and maybe his craft--a little better.
