Two of literature’s unlikeliest heroes had their stories told in cartoon form in this Disney double bill. First, the car-loving Toad makes life crazy for Ratty, Mole, and Badger in "Mr. Toad," an adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s "The Wind in the Willows," narrated by Basil Rathbone. Then, Bing Crosby relates Washington Irving’s "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in "The Adventures of Ichabod," as colonial schoolteacher Ichabod Crane has a nocturnal encounter with the Headless Horseman.
