In "You're Only Young Once" (1937), Judge and Mrs. Hardy (Lewis Stone and Fay Holden) opt to take the clan on vacation, but Andy (Mickey Rooney) is more interested in landing a local cutie (Eleanor Lynn). Then, head "Out West with the Hardys" (1938) as wannabe cowpoke Andy (Rooney) rounds up trouble on the prairie. Stone, Holden also star. Judge Hardy (Stone) engages Andy (Rooney) to do a little detective work to track down an aged couple's estranged daughter, in "Judge Hardy and Son" (1939). Holden co-stars. Next, Andy (Rooney) recruits gal pal Betsy (Judy Garland) in his crusade to get close to a society beauty (Diana Lewis), in "Andy Hardy Meets Debutante" (1940). Features Garland singing "Alone," "I'm Nobody's Baby." When class treasurer Andy (Rooney) overdraws the graduation dance fund, Judge Hardy (Stone) hires an impoverished young woman (Kathryn Grayson) to be "Andy Hardy's Private Secretary" (1941). And, high school grad Andy (Rooney) lands a desk job in New York City, but soon finds that independence in the big town has its price, in "Life Begins for Andy Hardy" (1941). 9 hrs. total on six discs.
