Powerful drama based on Terence Rattigan's 1948 stage play stars Michael Redgrave as Andrew Crocker-Harris, a cold, reflective Classics master at an English public school who is forced for health reasons to step down from his position prematurely. Compounding his despair are the actions of his wife (Jean Kent), who carries on an affair with one of the school’s younger teachers. Co-stars Nigel Patrick, Brian Smith, and Wilfrid Hyde-White; directed by Anthony Asquith. 89 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English; audio commentary; interviews.
