Director Im Sang-soo helmed this remake of another Korean film of the same name from 1960 about a desperate young woman (Jeon Do-yeon) who takes a job as a maid and nanny for a rich and tyrannical businessman. The man eventually seduces the willing Jeon, causing her to be vilified by his pregnant wife, his mother-in-law, and the head housemaid, which throws the family into turmoil with dire consequences.
