Based on the novel by Darryl Ponicsan, this often funny and always off-color look at life, Navy-style, follows sailors Billy Buddusky (Jack Nicholson) and Richard Mulhall (Otis Young) as they’re assigned to escort Larry Meadows (Randy Quaid), a young seaman convicted of theft, to a naval prison.
