Deafened after anarchists target one of his concerts with a bomb, a once-great pianist (George Arliss) sinks into despair. As he tries to master lip-reading, he becomes privy to the troubles of strangers...and finds new purpose in his life by covertly providing them with help. Sound remake of the 1922 drama, also starring Arliss, co-stars Bette Davis, Donald Cook, Ivan Sampson, Hedda Hopper; keep an eye out for Ray Milland. 80 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
