Sixtysomething New York hausfrau Marnie Minervini (Susan Sarandon) could be overbearing on her best day...but, at loose ends after the loss of her husband, she headed to L.A. for 24/7 insinuation into the life of her screenwriter daughter Lori (Rose Byrne). As Lori struggles to keep her at arm’s length, Marnie starts redirecting her mothering energies towards complete strangers, with results both amusing and poignant.
