The Nana Project, stars Academy Award winner Mercedes Ruehl (The Fisher King, Hustlers), Nolan Gould (Modern Family, Friends with Benefits) and Will Peltz (The List, Manifest). Set primarily at Timeless Acres Retirement Home, the film follows a documentary crew who develop an interest in one of it's star residents feisty chess master Helen Nana Lewis (Mercedes Ruehl). With the help of her friends Jennifer (Nicky Whelan), Francesca (Morgan Fairchild), Jack (Tony Todd), Esther (Charlene Tilton), Kitty (Beth Broderick), Gladys (Margaret Avery), and Lisa (Gina Hiraizumi), Nana begins training for the State Chess Championship. She plans on dominating the competition but her real plan involves reuniting her estranged grandsons, Andrew (Nolan Gould), a dedicated veterinary student and Cody (Will Peltz), a flashy male model and influencer. We follow Nana's journey in a hilarious and heartwarming family comedy about getting older and coming back together again.
