In 1980, middle-aged Briton Eric Lomax (Colin Firth) was still haunted by the traumas he endured as a young POW in WWII Japan, where he was tortured and placed into forced labor on the Thai-Burma Railway. With the aid of a new love (Nicole Kidman), he finds the strength to face his demons, and journey to confront the still-surviving former Japanese officer (Hiroyuki Sanada) who'd been his tormentor. Stunning take on Lomax's 1995 memoir co-stars Stellan Skarsgård, Jeremy Irvine, Tanroh Ishida. 108 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital 5.1; Subtitles: English (SDH), Spanish; audio commentary; "making of" featurette.
