When their plane is shot down over the English Channel, the crew of a WWII British bomber are cast adrift in a dinghy in the North Sea and struggle to stay alive while rescue efforts are mounted. The compelling war drama "The Sea Shall Not Have Them," directed by Lewis Gilbert, boasts an impressive cast that includes Dirk Bogarde, Nigel Patrick, Michael Redgrave, Anthony Steel. Then, you'd think that an artistic bent wouldn't have been of much use to British officer Lt. Geoff Ainsworth (Steel) in a German WWII POW camp. You'd have to think again, as he used them to craft a dummy so lifelike that it duped his guards, and allowed fellow prisoners to escape. Gilbert's long-sought, fact-based war tale "Albert, R.N." co-stars Jack Warner, Robert Beatty, Anton Diffring. 180 min. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
