Based on a true story, this eye-opening drama focuses on a 1971 psychological study designed to examine the cause of abusive behaviors in the prison system. Setting up a mock jail and using students to play the parts of prisoners and guards, Stanford University professor Dr. Philip Zimbardo (Billy Crudup) is shocked and horrified at how easily the otherwise normal participants seem to slip into their assigned roles. With Ezra Miller, Olivia Thirlby, Tye Sheridan, Nelsan Ellis. 122 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
