Austria 1937: Financial need sent sheltered 17-year-old Franz (Simon Morzé) to apprentice at a Vienna tobacco store. He’d develop a rapport with one of the regular customers--Sigmund Freud (Bruno Ganz)--and while the analyst helped him sort out his attraction to a vivacious cabaret dancer (Emma Drogunova), all three of them would be challenged by the city’s encroaching Nazi presence. Thoughtful take on the Robert Seethaler novel co-stars Johannes Krisch. 117 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: German; Subtitles: English; theatrical trailers. In German with English subtitles.
