As a recently discharged mental patient (Roberto Benigni) sets out to woo the beautiful woman (Nadia Ottaviani) with whom he’s become infatuated, he’s accompanied on his surreal journey through the countryside by an assortment of eccentrics, from a paranoid old functionary (Paolo Villaggio) who sees conspiracies everywhere to a trio of thief brothers convinced they can wrangle the moon.
