Though it's an Italian film with the word "cannibal" in the title, this ambitious production is not a movie about flesh eaters, but rather, a politically charged, allegorical updating of the Greek myth of Antigone (Britt Ekland). As World War III grips Milan, a law is passed by the fascist government prohibiting the burial of deceased rebels. To afford her late brother human dignity, Antigone defies the edict.
