Thanks to her agoraphobia and social awkwardness, London librarian/aspiring children’s author Bella Brown (Jessica Brown Findlay) is now looking at eviction because of the outdoor garden she’s let become an overgrown mess. However, the whistleblowing neighbor--crabby old widower Alfie Stephenson (Tom Wilkinson)--also has a green thumb, and proves an ally in straightening up her life as well as her yard, in this charming effort.
