Tiger on the Beat I And II
Unambitious veteran cop Li (Chow Yun-Fat) was already miserable being partnered with overeager rookie Tso (Conan Lee) when they were tasked to investigate the slaying of a hench (Phillip Ko) working for the crime boss, Mr. Law (Norman Chu). As they tail the dead man's gorgeous sister (Nina Li Chi), Tso starts falling for her...with disastrous results. Buddy-cop action farce "Tiger on the Beat" (1988) co-stars Gordon Liu. In the in-name-only follow-up "Tiger on the Beat II" (1990), aging cop Lam (Danny Lee) was asked to find his visiting and vacant American nephew Buffalo (Conan Lee) a marriage prospect. Of course, the kid's eye gets caught by a beautiful and threatened mob hit witness (Ellen Chan). Roy Cheung co-stars. 187 min. total. Widescreen; Soundtrack: Cantonese; Subtitles: English. In Cantonese with English subtitles.
