In the late '70s, after the rocket he'd spent a decade on exploded after takeoff, CNES engineer Didier Mathure (Melvil Poupaud) was demoted to stewarding GEPAN--the agency's problematic UFO investigations wing--in the hopes of bringing it to a similar fate. Between his own missteps and the influence of his oddball new colleagues, though, the problems are just starting.
