Lon Chaney─in his only talkie and final film─reprises his 1925 role as carnival ventriloquist Professor Echo, who forms a criminal gang with strongman Ivan Linow and midget Harry Earles to sell pet birds to wealthy customers, then break into their homes and rob them.
