The Vanished Empire

Russian teenager Sergey (Aleksandr Lyapin), reeling from burdensome family obligations at age 18, decides to pursue the pleasures of liquor, women, illicit drugs, and Western rock songs. A new relationship with the lovely Lyuda (Lidia Milyuzina) causes him to rethink his hedonistic ways and reconsider setting down real roots in the USSR, even as the Communist empire edges towards total collapse.
