In 1935, when Federal Theatre Project administrator John Houseman (Daniel Kuhlman) looked to put on an all-African-American production of "Macbeth," he turned to brilliant but unproven radio performer Orson Welles (Jewell Wilson Bridges). The story behind the acclaimed effort--from Welles' transfer of the play's setting to Haiti, to his clashes with no-less-willful leading lady Rose McClendon (Inger Tudor)--is shared in this intriguing fact-based offering. Ashli Haynes, June Schreiner also star. 108 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English; audio commentary; vintage performance footage.
