Pregnant teen Novalee (Natalie Portman) is abandoned in an Oklahoma Wal-Mart by her low-life boyfriend while on a cross-country trip and promptly takes up residence in the store. After making the news with her in-store delivery, Novalee sets out to build a life for herself in the quirky small town, with help from local nurse and fellow single mom Lexie (Ashley Judd), in this heartwarming seriocomedy.
