Unfortunately, mystery writer Wally Porter (Ernest Truex) developed car trouble as he was eloping with his lady friend Toby (Una Merkel). Fortunately, they were offered shelter in the lodgings of Jake Dillon (Edward Arnold). Unfortunately, Dillon’s a notorious bootlegger...and when he discovers his guest’s calling, he’s going to have Wally devise a waterproof murder scheme to dispose of a rival--or else!
