Unable to move on following his divorce, reclusive bank employee Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) decides to heed the advice of a self-help guru and start saying "yes" to everything in order to change his life. As he tries to live in a more positive manner, Carl’s newfound attitude gets him into a variety of oddball predicaments, including a new romance with a free-spirited musician (Zooey Deschanel).
